Krishna was born in the Dwapara Yuga, the third age of mankind, in the town of Mathura to Vasudeva and Devaki. His birth was miraculous, and he grew up in Gokul, raised by his foster parents Nanda and Yashoda. His childhood is filled with various divine pastimes (leelas), including his playful interactions with the cowherd boys and girls (gopas and gopika).

Vishu
Vishu is marked by various customs and rituals, including the Vishukkani (auspicious sight), where auspicious items such as rice, fruits, flowers, gold, and coins are arranged and viewed first thing in the morning as a sign of prosperity and good fortune for the year ahead. People also engage in feasting, visiting temples, and exchanging gifts during Vishu.
