Lord Ayyappa, also known as Sastha or Dharma Sastha, is a revered deity in Hinduism, particularly worshipped in the South Indian states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. He is considered to be the son of Lord Shiva and Mohini (an avatar of Lord Vishnu). Lord Ayyappa is often depicted as a celibate yogi and is revered as the presiding deity of Sabarimala Temple in Kerala.

Annual Festival
The Thiru Ulsavam, also known as the annual festival, celebrated at the Makaravilakku Temple, is a significant event observed during the Makaram month (usually falls in January) in the Malayalam calendar.
Mandala Pooja
The Mandala Vratham typically begins in the Malayalam month of Vrishchikam (mid-November) and lasts for 41 days, culminating with the Mandala Puja. During this period, devotees observe strict vows, including abstinence, fasting, and celibacy, as they undertake the arduous journey to the hill shrine of Sabarimala.
